How the 3D Lens Sheet Is Made (Imprinting)
Q
How is the 3D Lens Sheet manufactured?
A
MOPIC's 3D Lens Sheet is generally produced using an imprinting process.
Imprinting uses a mold engraved with a fine lens pattern to replicate the lens structure onto an optical material such as UV resin. This makes it possible to form a precise lens pattern that corresponds to the display's pixels.
The 3D Lens Pattern is typically formed on a Base Film (PET) and then combined with additional layers according to the optical structure and the product's purpose.
Note
The 3D quality of a 3D Lens Sheet can vary with the lens shape, LP (Lens Pitch), and pattern precision. In particular, the larger the lens-pattern error, the more likely crosstalk (X-talk) and degraded depth become.
