Case of Introducing a Glasses-Free 3D Display for Medical Image Analysis
Overview
- Customer: EchoPixel (USA)
- Industry: Medical Image Analysis / Medical Software / Medical Visualization
- Solution: 65-inch and 32-inch glasses-free 3D displays and Native 3D SDK
- Key Result:
- Real-time glasses-free 3D visualization of CT, MRI, and ultrasound data
- Improved intuitiveness and diagnostic efficiency in medical image analysis
1. Background and Challenge
Medical image data such as CT, MRI, and ultrasound is mostly viewed on flat (2D) displays. However, this approach makes it difficult to intuitively understand the depth and spatial relationships of complex anatomical structures. Because of this, there has been growing interest in glasses-free 3D-based medical visualization technology that can be used in medical environments without separate equipment.
2. MOPIC's Solution
EchoPixel integrated MOPIC’s glasses-free 3D display and 3D SDK into its medical image analysis platform. Through this, an environment was built where CT, MRI, and ultrasound data could be visualized in 3D directly on a monitor without a headset or 3D glasses.
3D Display Optimized for Medical Environment
MOPIC developed customized 65-inch and 32-inch glasses-free 3D displays considering viewing distance and usage conditions in medical environments.
- 3D optical design based on viewing distance for medical analysis environments
- Natural stereoscopic expression reflecting depth information in medical image data
Medical Image Visualization with Native 3D SDK
Using MOPIC’s Native 3D SDK, 3D functionality could be added without changing the existing medical imaging software structure.
It also provides the following functions:
- Real-time 3D rotation and zoom
- Intuitive stereoscopic visualization of medical image data
- Natural depth expression that reduces fatigue during long analysis work
3. Results and Value
Improved Accuracy in Medical Image Analysis
Through stereoscopic image-based visualization, medical staff were able to understand anatomical structures and spatial relationships more clearly.
Expansion into Medical Applications
This system provides a foundation for expansion not only into diagnosis and surgical planning but also into medical education, remote collaboration, and medical training.

Customer Interview
In medical image analysis, it is very important to accurately understand anatomical structures.
Through MOPIC’s glasses-free 3D display, we were able to build a new analysis environment where medical staff can understand structures more intuitively.
